About Ellen Gregory:

Years of painting as a hobby morphed into a more polished style. Although not an art student, I used my free electives in high school and college to take courses in painting, drawing and 3-D design. Over the years I have taken additional courses at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut and the Lyme Art Association, Lyme, Connecticut. I am constantly polishing my skills. Currently, I am working in oil. Most of my inspiration comes from the way colors look next to each other. My paintings are eclectic but may eventually evolve to one style. Who knows? Right now vibrant, rich colors make me happy and I love to share that with people. Some of my paintings seem to glow and I think that's a good thing. My paintings have been shown at the Lyme Art Association, Norwich Arts Center and The Red House Cultural Arts Center. I am an Associate Artist at the Lyme Art Association and a member of the Madison Art Society.
