About Senator Gu:
Victoria Gu (D) represents District 38 (Westerly, Charlestown, South Kingstown) in the Rhode Island Senate. She was elected in November 2022 and has a lengthy history of community service and advocacy and previously served as chair of Charlestown's Climate Resiliency Commission.
In her first term in the Senate, she helped pass a bill to clarify Rhode Islanders' right to access the shoreline; sponsored the Act on Coasts to prepare for sea level rise and climate change; and advocated for reforming the Coastal Resources Management Council.
Sen. Gu is Chair of the Senate Committee on Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technologies, member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, member of the Senate Committee on Environment & Agriculture, and member of the Senate Committee on Housing & Municipal Government​.

The Ocean Community Collaborative was formed in 2015 by a core group of nonprofits in the Town of Westerly, realizing that together they could create greater community impact, both collectively and individually, by helping each other be the best they can be. We have grown into a group of nonprofits from the greater Westerly area sharing ideas, supporting each other, and participating in professional learning opportunities together.
